At the unique and evocative Palazzo Gonzaga, Aster, in collaboration with the Museum of Palazzo Gonzaga, proposes various educational activities to explore the spaces of the palace and themes relating to the end of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. The scriptorium, the apothecary and the kitchens of the palace provide the setting for experiences dealing with themes of history, art, economy, knowledge and flavours.
Groups are, thus, given exclusive opportunities to carry out visits and workshops in the authentic spaces of the palace, discover historic artefacts where they were found, and use identical copies to the originals in the very rooms they were once used in. The experiences are designed to create an authentic reliving of history, to better understand how our ancestors lived and enjoyed the beauty and richness they surrounded themselves with.
In 2018, in collaboration with the Milanese company Aster, the Museum of Palazzo Gonzaga launched a new line of educational experiences aimed at infant, primary and lower secondary schools.
The educational packages provide various opportunities, ranging from simple visits to the palace and its gardens to more complex itineraries combining guided tours with educational manual skills workshops relating to aspects of daily life during the Renaissance.
The Renaissance period was chosen for the workshops and tours, since this was the golden age for the palace as the country residence of the Gonzaga family and then the permanent residence of the Guerrieri Gonzaga’s, faithful servants to the Lords of Mantua. The range of workshops on offer is extremely varied, and continues to be expanded year after year.
